Reiki

SPECIAL NOTE:
Because Reiki is a form of energy, it can be sent across distance, as well as in person. In this prolonged time of COVID-19, Rivka is only offering distance reiki via a ZOOM appointment.

What is Reiki?

Rivka saw the powerful healing qualities of Reiki during the 1980s, when working with AIDS patients. The soothing nature of Reiki energy helped the patients better tolerate the effects of the drug protocols, and gave them comfort, at a time when many would not even touch a Person with AIDS.

Reiki is a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes healing. It is NOT massage. It is administered by “laying on hands” just above the fully-clothed body, and is based on the idea that an unseen “life force energy” flows through us; and is what causes us to be alive. Reiki is also Not a religion, but does speak to our spirit and draws on the healing wisdom of the Universe.

Rev. Gevurtz originally learned 1st degree Reiki in 1992 and 2nd degree Reiki in 1994, under the auspices of the Reiki Alliance and instruction from Reiki Master, Sheila King. She furthered her learning, by studying the Usui/Holy Fire method for 1st & 2nd degree in 2018, and attaining Master certification in 2019, under the instruction of Reiki Master Colleen Bennelli, and under the certification of the International Center For Reiki Training.

Reiki has been shown to help support physical, emotional and spiritual healing.
